MOTHER CHEF

With the current focus on mental health in the restaurant industry, Manja has explored the status quo of female chefs with children in the Auckland restaurant scene. While women are already under-represented in the kitchens in hospitality, only a very small handful came to mind to photograph for this theme. In common for them all is a strong focus and diligence to be extraordinarily organized and to nurture the community around them.

Their work is encouraging and their dedication and kindness admirable. True female role models who prove that you can have it all — a career and a baby. Thanks to Sachie Nomura from Satchie's Kitchen, Sarah Ginella from Barulho Parnell & Fonda and Kate Faye from Cibo Parnell.
